Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra / Nomus 2026

The opening concert of this year’s NOMUS brings together the Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra, led by its chief conductor Aleksandar Marković, and young Russian cellist Ivan Sendecki, a multiple prizewinner at international competitions.
Titled Prometheus’ Flame, the concert brings together contemporary Serbian music and major works of the international symphonic repertoire. The programme opens with Starry Night by Aleksandra Vrebalov, followed by Veljko Nenadić’s orchestral overture Metamorphoses and Shostakovich’s Cello Concerto No. 1. The evening concludes with Igor Stravinsky’s The Firebird.
